My management philosophy and its direct impact on your top and bottom lines.

I received my training from the best leadership and team building school in the world: the United States Marine Corps. The teams I've built and led have generated double-digit gains in market share, revenue, customer satisfaction, cost reduction and profitability.

People respect my abilities to calmly and analytically evaluate turbulent situations, develop consensus regarding the methodologies and resources necessary to resolve the issues and then employ my leadership as I allow the team members to successfully resolve problems and secure opportunities.

Regarding management style, my premise is that a leader's focus should be building, polishing and leveraging a team’s complementary skill sets rather than autocratic supervision. I believe in “bottom up management” (where accountability and responsibility are pushed to the lowest possible level) and therefore maintain a lead by example philosophy. The following approach has been very successful throughout my career.
   1. Clearly define and communicate the organization’s strategic vision.
   2. Make sure the entire team fully understands all of the associated goals and timetables.
   3. Reach consensus on the resources needed to achieve those goals within those time frames.
   4. Empower the people to do the jobs for which we hired them.
   5. Act as a “safety net” using my creativity, knowledge, experience and mentorship skills.

Stellar results are achieved when a team becomes operationally efficient and effective via clear communication and an unwavering commitment to a shared goal.

I’ve consistently built dedicated, focused, and highly reliable teams by:
   • building an infrastructure (often on an individual basis),
   • hiring highly intelligent and ethical people when revenue and margin permit,
   • earning their trust and gaining their respect,
   • providing an atmosphere of continual challenges coupled with commensurate rewards, and
   • generating handsome profits by leveraging that brain trust in an environment of free, open and apolitical communication.

Leadership, as taught and exemplified in the Marine Corps, isn’t about always taking the lead; it’s about allowing others to attain the organization’s goals (and thereby their personal goals) through trust, mutual respect and collaboration. More times than not, my leadership has been defined as facilitating others’ achievements by serving as a catalyst, counselor, mentor and trusted confidant.

As a testament to my team building abilities, in all of my previous ventures, employee turnover has never exceeded 5%. My proven leadership abilities, as well as my highly refined mentoring skills, would be pivotal to your company's growth and success.
